Our Annual Public Safety Open House is designed to bring our community closer together while promoting safety awareness. Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Meet Our Heroes: Meet our dedicated police officers and firefighters. They’ll be on hand to answer questions and share insights in keeping our community safe.
- Exploration Zone: Explore police cruisers, fire trucks, and emergency response vehicles, and check out the equipment they use to protect and serve.
- Obstacle Course: Gear up and test your skills on our kids’ obstacle course.
- Child ID Cards: Ensuring the safety of our children is paramount. Visit our child ID card station to create a valuable identification card that can be a lifesaver in emergencies.
- Fire Truck Rides: Hop aboard a fire truck for a fun ride on the truck.
- Sweet Treats: Enjoy complimentary ice cream, the perfect way to cool down on a sunny day.
- Canteen 450: Will be on-site, offering hot dogs and refreshing drinks for cash purchase. Your support goes a long way in aiding their involvement in Muskegon County.
Special Events to Look Forward To
Honor Guard Presentation: At approximately 11:30 a.m., our event will pause to honor our nation with a moving Honor Guard presentation. The Mona Shores Elementary School Choir performs our National Anthem.
Door Prizes: We will draw door prizes for all registered children. It’s a chance to win some exciting goodies and memorabilia.
2nd-Grade Poster Contest: Cast your vote for the finalist in the 2nd-grade fire prevention poster contest.
Live Fire Demonstration: Around 1:00 p.m., don’t miss our live fire demonstration showcasing the advantages of an in-home sprinkler system. Witness firsthand how this critical safety feature can protect your loved ones and property.
