DESCRIPTION:Past and present members of the Norton Shores Police Department\, along with many dedicated volunteers\, provide a Department of Natural Resources approved Hunters Safety Program twice per year. Our program includes simulated hunting training and actual field instruction. \nParticipants must have taken the online Hunter Safety and/or Bow Hunter Safety course(s) prior to taking the field day. Proof of completion is required by 8/19/22 The online classes can be located on the Michigan DNR website. Successful students will receive a Hunter and/or Bow Hunter safety certificate after passing the online class\, field day\, and written test. \nAll students will need to be at the Police Department before 8:00 AM on the scheduled Field Day. You will then be bussed to the field location which has no private parking available. Those who are late will not be permitted to take the class. This is outside\, please dress for the weather. \nThis course is provided at no cost\, however\, a $20 fee will be assessed to families who fail to cancel within 10 days of the course start date. Although typically\, we have a waitlist for this program\, failure to cancel denies others from participating. Children 10 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult during the field day. Parents and or guardians are encouraged to attend with the student regardless of age.

DESCRIPTION:We are preparing to make this year’s event the Welcome Back Party of the year! \nTeaming up with some local sponsors Meijer\, Rapid Plumbing\, A&B Auto Center\, Huntington Bank\, Jawor Machine Co.\, Mike Rose Irrigation\, Cannon-Muskegon\, DTE\, and Tyler Sales has truly made this year a community event! With their support\, we will have our full slate of events. \nSchedule of Events: \n\nArts and Dash 5K run at 8:00 a.m.\nArts and Crafts show & Children’s Play area from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.\nArts and Wheels car show from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.\nStarting at 12:00 noon our entertainment venue will be open!\n\nYard Sale Underwear will be on stage to kick things off from noon – 3 p.m.! The West Side Soul Surfers will take the stage at 4:00p.m.\, and to round out the night\, The Great Scott Band will keep the crowd rocking from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.! \nWe are also still looking to add both Art and Food vendors to the mix so if you are interested please click here! \nWe are so very glad to be back and look forward to seeing all of you!
